Our Public Lectures
Talks are free to attend unless otherwise stated, although we ask members of each audience to make a donation when leaving the room.
According to current plans and unless otherwise stated, all talks will take place in the Committee Room, Civic Offices, Larkin Way, Wellington, Shropshire and start promptly at 7:30 p.m. We strongly suggest you arrive early as accommodation is limited.
Each meeting takes the format of announcements, talk by that evening’s speaker followed by questions and refreshments during which folk may chat to our committee members and among themselves, exchange notes and ideas, and seek help with their research.
A selection of local books and other publications are also often available for purchase at reduced prices.
Wellington’s Annual Literary Festival
Someone from our Group usually gives a talk at Wellington’s Annual Literary Festival which takes place at various venues around the town during October.
Details of each year’s programme of events and speakers are published by Wellington Town Council.
